Day 1, In Lampang, Thailand

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) is a regional intergovernmental organization established in 1965 among governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science and culture in the region.
As an organization that has continued to nurture human capacities and explored the peoples’ fullest potential, the SEAMEO maintains its work and aspirations for development with peoples of the region to make lives better in quality and equity in education, preventive health education, culture and tradition, information and communication technology, languages, poverty alleviation and agriculture and natural resources.
My name is
Princess Elfa Nur Izza. I
and Yuli Arti are one of the delegations of Yogyakarta State University in
SEAMEO program. We are placed
in Lampang Rajabhat University Thailand. On
January 20, 2018 we departed from Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta using Air
Asia plane at 7 am and arrived at Don Mueang International Airport terminal
around 11 am. Afterwards,
we continued our journey to Chiangmai airport at 5 pm and arrived at the
airport around 5 pm and were picked up by Mrs. Autchariya and Ms Joy. Mrs.
Autchariya is coordinator of Seameo program from Lampang Rajabhat University
and Ms. Joy is her assistant.
After that, me and yuli were escorted to the Apartment in Muang Lampang area to put lugage and meet Rizky, one of the delegates from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia for this SEAMEO program. Then Mrs. Autchariya invites us to eat seafood at a Chinese restaurant, and she shows us some shops that sell halal food. Because, not all shops in Lampang is halal food, this is because the majority of the Lampang population is Buddhist and Muslim become a minority in this area.
